Goal Setting Advice
1) Having 3 main goals for English for the new year is a useful coaching and training technique we use to help people with both their Business English and professional growth.
Your goals should be SMART:
- Specific – target a specific area for improvement.
- Measurable – quantify or at least suggest an indicator of progress.
- Assignable – specify who will do it.
- Realistic – state what results can realistically be achieved, given available resources.
- Time-related – specify when the result(s) can be achieved.
2) You need to have an ‘accountability partner’ for your goals.
An ‘accountability partner’ is a friend, colleague or it could be your English Trainer, who reminds you of your goals, sees how you are progressing to achieve those goals and provides some motivation.
3) Celebrate your small steps towards success.
Celebrate all the small steps you achieve during the year. This really helps your motivation and constancy to get closer and closer to achieving those goals.
