The NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) is no longer offering free online business courses through Coursera.

If you are seeking to launch or transition your business online, however, we encourage you to explore our “Launch Your Online Business” course.
 
Developed in partnership with the State University of New York (SUNY) and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), this 15-hour course is designed specifically for NYC entrepreneurs to:

• Master the essentials of digital marketing, branding and PR
• Plan and develop every part of a business website (e.g. e-commerce, copy, photography/video)
• Set up accounts on online marketplaces (e.g. Shopify, Amazon) and social media
• Learn the basics of search engine optimization (SEO) and digital key performance indicator (KPI)s

 
You can choose to audit the course for free, or you can pay the enrollment fee if you want a certificate of completion.
