The Business Administration Department at Castleton University provides a foundation of business knowledge that can lead to a variety of career options. Students will be prepared for professional employment, and understand the importance of professional behavior. They will also be ready to pursue lifelong learning, including graduate studies in a Master of Business Administration program.

Castleton’s Business Administration Department faculty members have a wealth of experience and knowledge from working as professionals in management, finance, marketing, and more in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Small class sizes provide students with close access to professors with an insider perspective on business who are also able to help them make connections for internships and future careers.

Students in the Business Administration Department are encouraged to engage in a variety of activities outside of the classroom, including Business Club and Sigma Beta Delta, the honor society for business, management, and administration.

Business Administration Degrees

The Business Administration Department also offers minors in Social Media Marketing, Finance, and Marketing. The Department also offers a Master of Business Administration at the graduate level.

Internships in Business Administration

Business students are encouraged to pursue internships and other experiences to help bolster their resume and set them apart in a competitive job market. Internships in Business Administration can be found locally, nationally, and internationally. They provide positions of responsibility for students in a professional environment under the supervision of an on-site professional and a faculty advisor.

Business Club

The Castleton Business Club is a student-run organization open to all members of the student body. It serves both the University and the local community by providing members the opportunity to strengthen their business skills, apply techniques learned in the classroom, increase the capacity to network, and improve the overall quality of their education.

Honor Society in Business, Management, and Administration

Sigma Beta Delta, the international honor society in business, management, and administration, was established to encourage and promote personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to mankind.

Induction into Sigma Beta Delta is by invitation only and is limited to undergraduate juniors, seniors, and graduate students who rank in the upper 20% of their class at the time of invitation.
