FAQ

Am I a candidate for the Brazilian butt lift?

To be a candidate for the BBL, you should be in good health and of a healthy body weight. You must also have realistic expectations, good skin quality, and a desire to improve the shape and firmness of your buttocks. Patients must have sufficient excess fat in other areas of the body, such as the abdomen or thighs, from which the fat can be extracted for fat grafting into the buttocks. Candidates should also be non-smokers or willing to quit for a period of time before and after the BBL procedure.

Can I still get a Brazilian butt lift if I am thin?

Patients will not qualify for the Brazilian butt lift if they do not have enough fat that can be grafted to sufficiently enhance the buttocks. During your consultation, Dr. Schlechter will determine if the Brazilian butt lift procedure is right for you.

Are there any risks associated with getting a Brazilian butt lift?

The Brazilian butt lift is a safe procedure, especially because the injected material is your own body fat. In rare cases, patients may experience complications such as infections, blood clots, stretch marks, asymmetry, numbness, or poor fat resorption. If these compromise the quality of your results, Dr. Schlechter may perform revision surgery to correct them.

What will recovery be like after my Brazilian butt lift?

Your recovery from your Brazilian butt lift will last for several weeks. Some soreness, bruising, tenderness, and redness may occur for a few days to a few weeks after the procedure. You can take pain medications to control any discomfort during this time. It is important to avoid sitting as much as possible for three full weeks after the procedure so that your results are not compromised. Dr. Schlechter provides all his patients with a recovery packet which has the information you’ll need during your recovery including the recommended cushion you should use. You will be able to return to work three weeks after your procedure or as soon as two weeks after your procedure if your job does not require prolonged sitting

Will I have scars after my Brazilian butt lift?

Unlike butt implants, which require lengthy incisions for their insertion, the BBL procedure requires only minor incisions for the liposuction part of the procedure. As a result, you will have minimal to no scarring after your BBL.

Are the results of a Brazilian butt lift permanent?

The results of a Brazilian butt lift are long-lasting to permanent. The fat that successfully grafts into the tissues of the buttocks will remain there indefinitely to enhance the shape and size of your buttocks
