The network deployment for AutoCAD® Electrical and AutoCAD® are the same, except for the sharing of symbol libraries, catalog databases, and support files.

Symbol Libraries, Catalog Database, and Support Files

AutoCAD Electrical installs comprehensive and intelligent symbol libraries in different industry standards.

Use the Customization section in the deployment page to specify whether or not to share symbol libraries, catalog databases, and support files. There is also an option to install the files to a shared network location so that multiple users can work from a common standard symbol library and parts database.

Online Deployment: Shared Symbol Libraries, Shared Catalog, and Support Files

To share the symbol libraries and the Support files, during the creation of deployment;

• Check the ‘Shared symbol libraries’ checkbox in customizations section
• Specify the path under the field ‘Shared symbol libraries location’

After the deployment is created, the “Libs” symbol libraries folder should be copied manually from the downloaded deployment to the shared location.

• Navigate to <<DeploymentName>>\Image\ACADE..\x64\en-US\Acade\acadecontentlp\ and run “AceSharedContentPacker.bat” with Administrator privileges.
• Copy the extracted “Libs” Folder from <<DeploymentName>>\Image\ACADE..\x64\en-US\Acade\acadecontentlp\shared-content to the shared location set in the deployment.

To share the catalog database and the Support files, during the creation of deployment;

• Check the ‘Shared catalog database and support files’ checkbox in customizations section
• Specify the path under the field ‘Shared support files location’

After the deployment is created, the “AeData” support files folder should be copied from the downloaded deployment to the shared location.

• Navigate to <<DeploymentName>>\Image\ACADE..\x64\en-US\Acade\acadecontentlp\ and run “AceSharedContentPacker.bat” with Administrator privileges.
• Copy the extracted “AeData” Folder from <<DeploymentName>>\Image\ACADE..\x64\en-US\Acade\acadecontentlp\shared-content to the shared location set in the deployment.

Example: For the following path settings during the deployment creation,

Deployment path: \\Server\Deploy\

Shared symbol libraries location: G:\SharedLibs\

Shared support files location: G:\Content\

Note:

Additional backslash is required at the end of the given path. A path without the backslash might lead to an incorrect library path in the Project Properties of the application.

• Navigate to \\Server\Deploy\Image\ACAD_E_2022_en-US\x64\en-US\Acade\acadecontentlp\
• Run “AceSharedContentPacker.bat” with Administrator privileges.
• Copy the Libs folder created in \\Server\Deploy\Image\ACAD_E_2022_en-US\x64\en-US\Acade\acadecontentlp\shared-content to G:\SharedLibs
• Copy the AeData folder created in \\Server\Deploy\Image\ACAD_E_2022_en-US\x64\en-US\Acade\acadecontentlp\shared-content to G:\Content
