Networking plays an important role in connecting the components of a network. Amazon’s networking feature works with various types of workloads all over the world in the cloud. It provides security, availability, global coverage and manageability. Networking solutions which are available from AWS Partner Network (APN) helps in the establishment of secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud presence quickly. Features of NetworkingNetworking services offer vital security features since they isolate the resources, data encryption, and private connectivity on the AWS global network. Security: VPC isolates the network resources thereby protecting data with the help of encrypted interconnectivity. AWS Site-to-Site VPN helps in the establishment of encrypted sessions with the help of IP security and transport layer security tunnels. AWS direct connect allows the creation of a private connection that can reach the on-premise environment and cloud. AWS PrivateLink can be used to privately connect the network and cloud services, network and SaaS solutions without visibility of traffic over public internet. Highest network availability: AWS helps provide high network availability with three times less downtime hours in regard to networking issues in comparison to the next largest cloud provider. This is because every region is fully isolated, and an availability zone has been built in every region which partitions the fully isolated infrastructure. In order to improve the isolation of issues and provide high availability, the user can partition the applications across multiple availability zones present in the same region. Every availability zone has its respective infrastructure that is connected to a fast and private fiber optic network. The services have been designed in such a way that they can be scaled out within a specific region as well. Consistent high performance: The AWS global network ensures delivering the best support for a wide range of applications which includes those that have high throughput and low latency requirements. This is delivered with the help of a Nitro system which removes the traditional virtualization functions. The dedicated hardware present in AWS ensures delivery of high performance, high availability, and lower instance to instance latency consistently, all in comparison to other cloud providers. This is the reason behind machine learning workloads running efficiently on AWS in comparison to other platforms. Broad global coverage: The AWS global network helps and delivering customer applications and content to anywhere worldwide via a private network. AWS has the largest global network which contains 66 availability zones, covering 21 regions, 180 points of presence which is connected by 100 Gbps trans-oceanic cables. There are 89 AWS direct connect locations which makes AWS the broadest geographic coverage service provider. Complete management capabilities: Workloads can be easily managed even if the user has thousands of Amazon VPCs and needs to reach millions of users. It provides the transit Gateway which helps in the simplification of routing between the VPC and on-premise network. It is the only provider with the Global accelerator that provides higher performance and availability to global applications. It makes sure that every user is able to connect to the closest AWS Point-of-Presence (PoP). It then routes the traffic of the application over AWS high-performance Global network. These services are integrated deeply with Amazon CloudWatch which helps in provisioning detailed visibility of networking and application performance. Integrated network solution: As and when enterprise workloads and migrations get more complicated there is a need for the underlying network to be able to handle these applications in a fault-tolerant and high-performance fashion. Integrated network solutions are available from AWS Partner Network (APN) which help in improving the AWS networking. These solutions are a collaborative effort of multiple APN partners. Managed network solutions:A managed network solutions part II can be used to improve the infrastructure design and connectivity deployment so that the focus of the user remains on building efficient cloud applications. Managed Network Solutions are available from AWS Partner Network (APN) which help in deciding whether the AWS native and hybrid cloud networking services need to be outsourced or not. The services include hybrid network architecture and private or public connectivity which make use of SD-WAN, VPN, Transit VPC, Direct Connect, and IPSec/SSL encryption. Hybrid network solutions: A hybrid network can be deployed with the help of AWS Partner Network (APN) which helps in defining the AWS cloud architecture. Such solutions help in connecting the on-premise resources with the AWS cloud resources via a common network that helps in establishing a single environment. The on-premise network configuration and business applications can be extended based on the requirements. Amazon offers a wide variety of networking services which have been designed to work with a robust networking architecture that provides a streamlined and secure network connectivity. It is used in the provisioning of content delivery all over the world with applications that have high-availability. Networking Services The networking services offered by Amazon have been listed below: Amazon VPC: It helps in provisioning an isolated section of the Amazon Web services Cloud. Amazon Route 53: It is a reliable and cost-effective method of routing end users to other internet applications. Amazon CloudFront: It delivers quick and highly secure, programmable content delivery network (CDN). Elastic Load Balancing: It help in achieving fault tolerance for applications by providing scalability, high-performance and security. AWS PrivateLink: It provides access to services that are hosted on AWS with ease and security, by keeping the network traffic within the AWS network only. AWS App Mesh: It is used to monitor and control micro-services with ease. AWS Global Accelerator: It improves the availability of global application and improves the performance with the help of AWS global network. AWS Direct Connect: It allows the user to establish a dedicated network connection from the AWS premises with ease. AWS Cloud Map: It is a service discovery meant to work with cloud resources. AWS Transit Gateway: It helps in the easy scalability of connections across many VPCs, AWS accounts, and AWS networks. AWS VPN: It can be used to securely access the user’s on premise and cloud networks from any location in the world.
