Electric Skateboards
I’ve been on the search for the best mini electric skateboard. And chances are if you’re reading this, so are you.
I wanted to put this list together to save you time researching.
In my opinion, the best process to follow is to define your budget, then your riding style. Each electric skateboard on this list represents a different budget category.
Everyone’s idea of ‘mini’ is subjective, so to keep it simple, I’m categorizing anything under 35″ long as mini.

Summary
If you want a setup under $500, go for the Meepo Mini 2. Remember that it’ll be heavier than the Exway Wave or Backfire Mini. If price isn’t a concern, go for the Exway Wave or Backfire Mini. You can swap the batteries on the Exway, but not on the Backfire. If you want to build your own, I’d suggest the Revel Kit.

Mini Completes
If you want to pay for a completed mini-electric setup, below are some good options. Listed from cheapest to most expensive.
Meepo Mini 2
In-depth breakdown here
Best budget-friendly mini electric skateboard.
The Meepo Mini 2 is the cheapest option on this list. It has dual hub motors, maxing out at 29 mph. The deck has some concave and a subtle kicktail. The downside of hub motors is riding on rough roads will be harsher. This is because there’s less urethane on the back wheels.
Length: 30″
Width: 9″
Weight: 16lbs
Top Speed: 29mph
Warranty: 6 months
Range: 11 or 20 miles
Backfire Mini
Best if you want a high-end mini electric skateboard that’s the lightest on the list. The downside is you have limited range because you can’t swap out the battery like you can on the Exway Wave.
The Backfire Mini is the cleanest-looking mini electric skateboard on this list. Its dual hub motors max out at 26mph. The deck has some subtle concave, kicktail, and nose.
Length: 31.1″
Width: 8.85″
Weight: 13.2lbs
Top Speed: 26mph
Warranty: 6 months
Range: 9-11 miles

Exway Wave
Best if you want a high-end setup with the ability to swap out your battery.
The Exway mini seems to be leading in popularity for the best mini electric skateboard. However, when writing this, the specs are a little outdated. Gives off a similar aesthetic to the Boosted Mini (RIP). The wave is unique because you can get a hub or belt drive setup.
And even though there’s no option for an extended battery, the Wave has swappable batteries. This is a great feature because you can easily carry additional ones in a backpack.
Length: 30″
Width: 10.55″
Weight: 15.2lbs
Top Speed: 23mph
Warranty: 6 months
Range: 11 miles

Exway Wave

Evolve Stoke
Best if you want the surfiest feeling mini electric skateboard. It’s not as portable as the others on this list since it’s a beefier setup.
The Evolve Stoke comes with a belt-drive setup, double kingpin trucks, and a bamboo deck with a traction pad. This would be a solid pick if you want something that’s gonna turn heads and offer a surfy carving experience.
Length: 33.5″
Width: 8.85″
Weight: 17.9lbs
Top Speed: 22mph
Warranty: 12 months
Range: 10 miles

Build Your Own
Although out of the box, it’s not a “mini electric skateboard”, you can very easily turn it into one. If you want to build your own mini electric setup, but don’t want to get too techy, you should consider…
Revel Kit
This was my first “build your own” electric skateboard purchase. It’s a direct drive, and you can swap out batteries. I have over 250 miles clocked on mine, and it’s still going strong. I’ve tried it on my Carver decks, Loaded decks, and even my YOW decks. I can confidently recommend the Revel Kit.
The ability to customize your setup is really nice if that’s what you’re into.
You can find a full breakdown of my favorite Revel setup here.
