If you search the app store, particularly the shopping category, right now, there’s a good chance that the Wish app will fall as number one app, and it’s for a good reason.

Selling almost anything online, the Wish app, to me, has an awesome and clean interface, great-looking pictures and it’s super easy to use.  Trust me, a toddler can find what they are looking for.

Now, if you’re a huge fan of Wish like me and love those cheap shopping apps, then I wanted to share some other cheap shopping apps like Wish.  But before we do, let me quickly explain Wish to those who have no idea what it is.

What is the Wish app?

If you already know about Wish, great!  You can just skip this section if you like and get to the good stuff — the alternatives.

I just wanted to include the in’s and out’s as to how the app works and what you can expect of it if you were to download it.

When you first download the app, you will be presented with a large number of products, about $20 or less in general, however, some products can be much more than this as well.  It really depends on what you’re looking to buy.  If you feel like browsing the trending items, then you may find a deal that surprises you — who knows?

Considered to be a glorified dollar store app, the Wish app will make random suggestions based on your past searches if you use it a lot, or if you wish (no pun intended), you can search for products you had in mind to see what’s for sale.

When I downloaded the app, for example, most of the items I was presented with retailed for less than $5 and included products such as a tomato peeler, organizer, phone mount and paper airplanes, to name a few.  Most of the items were smaller, but I did find a few things that I was interested in such as shoes and some clothing.  Under each item, you could see how many people purchased the item as well as the current discounted rate along with reviews from past buyers.

With this app, though, keep in mind you’re not dealing with Wish, but instead, you’re dealing with a private seller who uses Wish as their selling platform, similar to that of eBay, for example.

Be forewarned! If you just downloaded the app, you may find yourself browsing for hours as it really does seem as if the listings never stop.

Why is the Wish app cheap?

Like me, you may be wondering why this app and the others I list below are so cheap.

The primary reason?

Like Amazon, Wish acts like the main shipping platform, essentially partnering with merchants who wish to sell their products on the app.  If you list the product, Wish takes a small commission fee and that’s about it.

With most of the items coming from Asia from no-name brands, this is the main reason since, as you probably know, most items that come from China and relatable countries are quite cheap.  If it’s too good to be true in terms of pricing and the seller is selling a brand-name product, then there could be a good chance it’s a counterfeit item, however, this isn’t always the case.  Just be sure to check out the reviews to see what buyers are saying about the purchase.

Keep in mind that not all products on the app are no-name products as you can find multiple brands, but beware, there are a lot of sellers on the app that may sell knock-off or counterfeit products, so make sure you review the seller’s history before purchasing.

This app is 100% legit and has hundreds of millions of downloads.  Again, it’s the #1 shopping app for a reason, so there’s no need to question it, trust me on this one.

Wish Subsidiaries

Aside from the main Wish app, did you know the company also offers four sister apps that focus more on specific categories?

Yes, these apps are still owned and operated by Wish, but the biggest difference is that you will be presented with a specific category rather than everything and anything on the main app, making it a great choice if you’re looking for specific items within a particular category.

If you search for Wish-related apps on the Google Play or App Store, you may find the following:

Cute

The Cute section only focuses on beauty and cosmetic-related products, but if you want, you can search for clothing options as well.  Most of the items listed, from what I saw, could range anywhere from $1 to $5, with additional shipping fees (depending on your purchase).

Geek

Geek, as you may have guessed, focuses on everything technology, ranging from electronics to newer gadgets such as Android accessories, camera, speakers and headphones, to name a few.  Prices started at $1 but did increase quite a bit depending on what you were looking to purchase.

Home

Another easy one to guess, the Home section focuses on everything for the home, ranging from items for the kitchen to the bathroom, including lights, rugs and clocks, for instance.  Much like the discounted home goods stores, such as the At Home and Home Goods chain, I found this to be an awesome alternative to the brick and mortar home good-type stores.  Most of the items on the Home app ranged anywhere from $1 to $10 on average.

Mama

Whether you’re a new mom, mom-to-be or a mother of five wild kids, you may want to check out the Mama section to explore everything related to kids.  Items, when I took a quick peek included toys, games, household items and even school supplies.  Just like the Home and Cute app, most of the products were less than $10.

AliExpress

4.6 Google Play rating

An online storefront from China’s Amazon equivalent, Alibaba, the AliExpress website/app is very similar to Amazon.com, but if you want to surf as you would on the Wish app, then you can browse pictures only as well.

Just like Wish, sellers on AliExpress are able to set their own prices and shipping rates as AliExpress is simply the storefront connecting sellers to the buyers.  Here, just like Amazon, the categories and offerings are truly endless.

While the prices are awesome, the only downfall I found was the shipping times since some products could take up to two months to arrive on your doorstep since most items ship from China.  If you’re willing to wait, however, you can save quite a bit.

PRO TIP:  If you ever purchase something on Amazon.com, always check AliExpress first because many sellers on the U.S. Amazon website are often dropshippers or private label companies that take a product from a China factory and slap their logo on it and will then sell it on Amazon.com.  By taking these dropshippers and private label companies out of the picture, you can keep the profit margins yourself!

ASOS

4.7 Google Play rating

The ASOS app allows you to shop close to 1,000 fashion brands, allowing you to search by size, brand, price, color, category and much more, making it extremely easy to find a piece of clothing or accessory that fits your needs and budget.

Allowing you to search each item by category, the ASOS app allows you to also search daily trends and flash deals to help you save up to 80%.

Highly rated, ASOS can send push notifications when a trending sale starts and delivery is free on all orders greater than $40.

Banggood

4.5 Google Play rating

Banggood showed up on the Google Play apps list when I searched for Wish like apps, and I decided to download it to check it out.  To my surprise, I liked it quite a bit.

For one, the app was super clean and very easy to use, just like Wish.  I also liked the multiple offerings, from the daily flash deals to the daily coupons to help you save even more money on your purchase.

To date, the app offers 150,000+ products in multiple categories, but it seemed the biggest sellers were Apple accessories, smartphone gadgets, clothing, jewelry and beauty products, to name a few.

The app offers 24/7 customer service, free shipping on almost all products, privacy production and they continue to add giveaways, flash purchases and discounts daily.

If you download the app today and make your first purchase, the app will give you an exclusive 10% off discount — not bad!

DHGate

4.5 Google Play rating

DHGate is a lot like AliExpress mentioned prior.  In fact, I couldn’t find much of a difference, with the exception that AliExpress is much larger in size.

Like AliExpress, you can scroll through hundreds of categories, with each one offering thousands, if not millions of products for sale from sellers primarily based in China.

Since most of these sellers are from China, the shipping times can be quite long, sometimes up to a month, again, liked AliExpress, but as long as you’re willing to wait, you can save almost 30 to 70% more when comparing prices to Amazon and U.S.-based retailers.

Like AliExpress, if you have an item in mind, search DHGate as well to see what sellers have to offer, and before purchasing, just make sure you check out the seller’s feedback to make sure you’re dealing with someone who is legitimate.

Dollar Tree

(Have to use the mobile website, unfortunately)

There’s probably a good chance you have a Dollar Tree store nearby, but did you know they have a mobile website-like app like Wish as well?

Yes, everything on the website is a dollar, but unlike the store, you do have to purchase a minimum, usually around 24 items or so, before you can complete your purchase.  In some cases, depending on what you want to purchase, this could be a good (or a bad) thing.

To cut on the shipping costs, you can have the product delivered directly to your local store, where you can pick it up in as little as a few days and the shipping will be free.  If you want it shipped to the store, though, you will have to pay a small fee.

Even if you’re thinking, “Hey! I already went to the Dollar Tree and already know what they sell,” you do need to keep in mind that all locations offer different products.

The official website will list almost all of the inventory they carry nationwide, making it a great option for those who are looking for the dollar-only deals and want to see everything they have in stock.

Dollar1

4.7 Google Play rating

Dollar1, like Dollar Tree, offers most of their products for about $1, but there are some items which may cost a pinch more.  It’s another one of the many cheap apps like Wish.

The thing I did like about Dollar1 was that the items could be shipped in as little as a few days and the shipping was free as long as you spent more than $25.  Another cool feature I liked was that the website lets you compare the prices of the product you were looking to purchase with Walmart, eBay, Amazon, and Target, to make sure you were truly paying the best price.

When I glanced at the site, I found some great brands, such as AmazonBasics, Disney, Crest, Gillette and many more, and the prices, when compared to the major retailers, were actually a bit cheaper, making it a great option to consider when bargain shopping.

The company notes that all products are 100% authentic and are sourced directly from the USA.

Like Wish, I liked this website/app a lot and highly consider you add it to your thrifty shopping list.

DX (DealeXtreme)

3.1 Google Play rating

When I first heard about DealeXtreme, referred to as DX on the App and Google Play Store, it reminded me a lot like AliExpress, wherein you could purchase just about anything.

The feature I liked the most, however, was the $0.99 tab, where, as you guessed it, everything was only a $1, making it an awesome choice for those who like to wander the dollar store aisles in the comfort of their own home.

Aside from the $0.99 tab, the website also had an extreme deals section, top sellers and top staff picks for the week.

While this app did have one of the worst ratings on the Google Play store out of all the apps I mentioned, most seemed to complain about the lack of customer service and high shipping costs.

This app may be something to consider, but I wouldn’t consider it the best alternative to Wish.

Fab

For those who have an upscale taste, the Fab app may be one to consider; however, the items on this app are not going to come cheap.

Selling a variety of items, including tech gadgets, home decoration and art, to name a few, it’s worth checking out if you’re interested in high-end decorations primarily.

Shipping is free on orders greater than $100 and $8.95 if you spend less than that.

Don’t expect crazy deals, though, if that’s your thing.

Five Below

(Have to use the mobile website, unfortunately)

Like Dollar Tree, I wanted to include the Five Below chain as well, but again, like the Dollar Tree chain, they do not have an app; rather, you have to use the mobile website to purchase.  Just as good, I suppose.

While the Dollar Tree chains have locations in all states, the Five Below chains are limited to certain states, but it doesn’t mean you cannot purchase online from the anywhere in the United States.  If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, as the name notes, everything is less than $5 and the selection is actually pretty good!

From tech gadgets to games and home decor, the company requires you to spend at least a $10 minimum before you’re able to complete your purchase.

Unlike Wish, all Five Below items come from big names you have heard of and instead of dealing with private sellers, you’re dealing with the corporation itself.

GearBest

4.6 Google Play rating

As you probably guessed by the name, the GearBest app offers everything “electronics and gadgets.”

With more than 100,000+ products and 100+ categories at the time of this writing, I found the app to be very easy to use with a HUGE selection of everything technology, ranging from robotic vacuums to drones and smartwatches.  Honestly, if it’s a gadget, there’s a good chance it’s on here.

Aside from some tech gadgets, other items for sale included some home decor, clothing and even toys.   The selection was limited, however.

Like most of these apps, GearBest adds hundreds of products daily and all purchases have a 45-day money back guarantee and a 360-day free repair to protect all buyers.

Groupon

4.6 Google Play rating

Yes, the website we all think about when it comes to daily deals — Groupon — yes, that Groupon.

I’m not sure how often you search Groupon, but the website actually has some pretty nice “goods” subsection and hundreds of products are added daily.   In fact, I have purchased a few things in the past, such as a laptop, Roomba and even some t-shirts, all of which I was able to easily save 50%+

At this moment, the “Goods” section alone easily had hundreds of thousands of listings, ranging from home items to watches and women’s fashion.  You name it, you can probably find it, including high-end items such as MacBooks, televisions and more.

With the massive audience Groupon has, it doesn’t hurt to make it a habit to check out the “goods” subsection since many reputable brands and retailers do work with them, offering you discounts up to 90%.

Plus, if you’re lucky enough, the company often will throw in a 10, 20, 30 or even 40% promo codes, depending on the time of year.  As a side note, I did write about the more than 15+ Groupon alternatives that you may want to check out as well.

Hollar

4.6 Google Play rating

Hollar, another awesome dollar store-like app, offers a variety of options for less than $5, but if you want items for just $1, they do have a $1 Shop.

The website/app offers free shipping on orders over $25, and like the Dollar Tree and Dollar1 app I mentioned earlier, the categories are endless.

Most of the best sellers, when I did glance at the app, included a travel bag, drink tumbler, bathroom mat, face scrub and umbrella, for example.

Like most of these websites, if cheap is your middle name, then keep checking as the company continues to add products to their $1 Shop and Clearance section.

JackThreads

4.0 Google Play rating

A lot of these Wish-like apps were geared toward women, with a mix of men’s clothing here or there, but JackThreads is a true Men’s only app that focuses mainly on fashion.

Like a lot of the apps I’m going to talk about on this list, the JackThreads app offers a great selection of everything fashion, ranging from shorts to shoes and accessories.

Most of the prices, from what I saw, were very competitive and the selection was massive.  For example, when browsing the shorts section, I found sale items for as little as $4.99, while some of the company’s jeans retailed for $19.99.

Be warned, though, that it seems like a well-priced deal will sell out fast, so if you like a good deal, you may want to glance at this app daily.

Jane

4.8 Google Play rating

If you’re into daily boutique deals, then the Jane app is one to consider.  It’s a cheap clothing app just like Wish in a way, but the quality seems to be better.

Offering over 250+ deals every day, up to 80% off, the Jane app focused primarily on clothing and shoes, but when I glanced at the website, I did see some household and even baby items such as a crib.  So it’s not just clothing.

With an easy-to-use interface and amazing selection every day, I loved the favorites feature, which showed you how many people liked the particular deal and the pictures of each item as it looked very professional in comparison to other apps I looked at.

From the high reviews, users loved the clothing quality, the selection, customer service and the awesome deals.

Jollychic

4.1 Google Play rating

An online shopping mall with more than 1 million products, Jollychic users can not only shop great deals but will have the opportunity to win free vouchers and even gifts.  Like a lot of these apps, they also have daily flash deals, giveaways and heavily clearance items, allowing you the opportunity to save even more.

Adding more than 1,500+ items every day, Jollychic offers up to 70% on multiple products, ranging from clothing to home decor.

Whether you’re looking for a new gadget or article of clothing, Jollychic could save you up to 70% off.

Joom

4.7 Google Play rating

Joom, like Wish, has millions of products for sale up to 80 percent off and thousands of products are added daily.

In fact, while I was writing this, the official description said they had more than 4 million products!  That’s going to keep you busy for a while.

Selling a variety of items from private sellers, the app focuses primarily on clothing, shoes, cosmetics, accessories, electronics, toys and home products.

The more you use the app, the more personalized your product selection will be.

The biggest difference, from what I noticed, was that all orders are free and it seemed as if they had a very nice refund policy — something that was lacking with other apps.

JUMIA

4.3 Google Play rating

JUMIA Online Shopping was yet another related app that popped up in the Google Play store, and I decided to check it out to see how it compares.

According to the official company, you can receive up to 70% off on more than one million products, and every day, the company offers unique flash sales and vouchers.  Some brands I noticed, while scrolling through the app, included Canon, Pampers, L’Oreal and Samsung, for example.  All pretty big brands, if you ask me.

While the app is primarily geared toward an African audience, there is an English version that ships to the United States and may be worth checking out.

The company offers a customized shopping feed the more you use the app and 24/7 customer service.

Lazada

4.2 Google Play rating

Said to be the #1 shopping app in all of Southeast Asia, according to the app’s description, the Lazada app offers daily flash sales, daily vouchers and personalized recommendations on millions of products in virtually every category.  Yes, even though, it caters to Asia, Americans, at least from what I saw, could use it.

Just like most of these apps, all of the listings on Lazada are posted by private sellers and include millions of the world’s leading brands such as Samsung, Philips and Nestle, for example.

The company does offer a full refund on any purchase you’re dissatisfied, and to date, they have more than 140 million members, making it one of the biggest Wish competitors.

Letgo

4.5 Google Play rating

The Letgo app is a bit different than most of the apps listed here, but I wanted to include it anyway since it is a fantastic place to find great local deals via sellers like you and me.

Unlike most of these apps, where you simply find what you want to buy, click purchase and wait for your shipment, the Letgo app, like Craigslist, will be in the form of haggling with a nearby neighbor.

Yes, I know it sounds scary to meet a random stranger, but with so many police stations offering safe meeting spaces to buy and sell your goods, the Letgo app is a goldmine.

Whatever you want to purchase, there’s a good chance someone nearby is offering that exact item, again, just like Craigslist, but if you want to just aimlessly scroll for hours, then you can do that, too!  It really could be a decent alternative for those who are shopping for a larger item that often costs a boat load to ship.

The app’s interface is clean, easy to use and even before you consider buying something, you can check out the seller’s profile to see if he or she received feedback in the past.

Light in the Box

4.0 Google Play rating

LightintheBox.com has an interface similar to that of AliExpress, and honestly, it works in the same way.

With a ton of categories and millions of products to choose from, Light in the Box honestly sells anything, from phones to home and garden items.

Aside from the typical “search for a product” you want to buy, the company also offers daily flash sales and some amazing daily deals that can help you save up to 70% off.

When I downloaded the app, I found it pretty easy to use and really liked the “group buy” concept, which was a concept that would only give you the price if a certain amount of people committed to the deal.  If enough people didn’t buy, then your credit card wouldn’t be charged.

Like AliExpress and DHGate, if you find an item on Amazon or another eCommerce-type website, I highly encourage you to check out this site as well to see if you can find a deal.

As always, however, just make sure you closely examine the seller’s feedback to ensure you’re working with a reputable seller.

Mercari

4.4 Google Play rating

Mercari, working a lot like eBay, is the fast and easy way to sell almost anything.

Unlike some apps, such as LetGo, you do not have to meet up with someone; rather, the seller will list it and items are shipped via a printable shipping label once it’s sold, making it a much easier option than eBay, for example.

While Mercari is all over the place in terms of offerings, much like eBay, it may be worth checking out if you had a particular item in mind that you wanted to purchase.

If you do plan on using this app, however, remember that since you’re dealing with private sellers, there’s the chance of being ripped off, such as receiving counterfeit goods or even receiving an item that wasn’t as described.

Overstock

4.4 Google Play rating

I’m sure you have heard about Overstock.com, but if not, it’s similar to Amazon.com, but the company focuses more on furniture and home goods.

The cool feature I liked about the app was that it had daily flash deals, where you could save up to 55% off on brand-name products, and if you were a user of Overstock, then you could connect your account as well, receiving notifications when your order ships.

As one of the biggest furniture retailers on the web, I highly consider this option if interested in purchasing anything home goods or furniture related.

Poshmark

4.3 Google Play rating

Poshmark is a lot like an online garage sale, but a much more organized version and caters to top brands.

With the Poshmark app, if you’re unfamiliar with it, you can shop over 5,000 brands, all of which will be slightly used since you’re dealing with a private seller.  You’re able to browse by size, designer and even the style, making it quite easy to find the clothing you had in mind.

If you’re looking for a particular designer brand, such as Gucci, Michael Kors and Lululemon, for example, then it’s a great option as you can save more than 70%.  Honestly, they had just about any brand you could think about.

Again, remember the items will be gently used, but in some cases, the clothes will still look like new, but it will cost you about 50-70% less!

Rainbow Shops

4.7 Google Play rating

Rainbow Shops is a highly rated shopping app that focuses primarily on plus sized clothing, all at a very good price.

With a massive catalog and items added daily, I found most of the items to sell for less than $15 and even sale items for as little as a few dollars.

While a lot of these shopping apps may offer plus-sized clothing options, the Rainbow Shops app seemed to offer the best in terms of selection and quality.  Aside from the plus-sized clothing, Rainbow Shops did offer other clothing sizes as well.

ROMWE

4.6 Google Play rating

ROMWE, which focuses on women’s fashion, offers a variety of products, including t-shirts, bottoms, sweatshirts, rompers, shoes, jewelry and even home goods.

With most of the items less than $7, the app also offered over 200 daily new arrivals, daily exclusive $1.99 deals and some sales that can save you up to 95%.  Checking out the main page, for example, I saw multiple daily deals for less than $2.99 — a pretty good find if you ask me.

Honestly, out of all the apps that sold clothing on this list, this could take the cake if you’re someone looking for anything fashionable in the female world while on a strict budget.  You could easily purchase a full wardrobe for less than $100, and I’m not even kidding!

The company offers a 10% student discount, 60 day return period and free shipping on purchases over $49.

RoseGal

4.2 Google Play rating

I saw the RoseGal app pop up quite a bit while doing my research online, and at first glance, I noticed a lot of the clothing options I saw were on Wish as well.

The only difference, however, was that most of the orders had free shipping, whereas many of the Wish orders had additional shipping charges.

Again, you may find most of the wardrobe items you find on RoseGal that you find on Wish, but it doesn’t hurt to compare the two.  Remember, with Wish, you often have to pay an additional shipping charge.

The website, if you’re wondering, primarily focuses on plus-sized clothing and fashionable accessories.

SammyDress

3.8 Google Play rating

The SammyDress app, with the tagline “Dress for Less,” adds 200+ products daily, with some options as little as $1.99.

Glancing at the official app, the company offered a variety of clothing options for both men and women, all sizes and even shoes, jewelry, bags and accessories, with most priced less than $5.

If you’re the type that doesn’t want to spend more than $10 on an article of clothing, then this app may be one to consider as the selection huge.

Best yet, the company does offer a special coupon/promo code for first-time users, allowing you to save even more.

SHEIN

4.5 Google Play rating

SHEIN, like the ROMWE app I mentioned earlier, focuses on women’s fashion and offers close to 20,000 styles, ranging from swimwear to t-shirts and dresses.

With a ton of offers, most of which ranged from a few dollars to $25 or so, the company offers free shipping on orders over $49 and daily flash deals that can help you save up to 80%.

Aside from these great features, the company also offers 24/7 customer service, a 15% off coupon for first-time users and a risk-free ordering process.

Most of the reviews, when I took a quick glance, seemed to boast about the delivery speeds, customer service and the clothing quality.

Tophatter

4.3 Google Play rating

I found Tophatter to be quite addictive and wanted to include it on this list, even though it’s a bit different than Wish.

Unlike Wish, where you simply click the buy button and wait for your purchase, the Tophatter app offers 90-second auctions, where you bid on a product and try to win.  However, they do offer fixed rate deals if that’s what you’re looking for, but it seemed most of the deals relied on the auctions.

With bids starting at $1, the website offers listings for gadgets, jewelry and so much more, and you only had to pay if you won the auction, just like any other auction site.

Auctions are available every second and the return period lasts 30 days!

Wanelo

4.6 Google Play rating

Said to be the best way to shop on your phone, the Wanelo app shows you amazing products every day, and like many of these daily shopping apps, the more you use it, the more personalized your results become.

Whether you want a specific brand or a small boutique located in the middle of America, the app lets you shop all in one place.

Like Wish, all products are posted by Wanelo users, meaning you should do your due diligence before making a purchase to ensure you’re dealing with someone reputable.

YoShop

4.2 Google Play rating

NOTE:  Appears to be inactive as of September 2019

YoShop, yet another fashion-only shopping app, boasts 300+ daily arrivals, 24/7 customer service and most shipments arrive at your door within five days.

Like most of the fashion apps I talked about earlier, the YoShop app had daily deals, heavily discounted goods and a huge range of styles for both men and women.

All purchases, according to the company, comes with a 10-day return guarantee.

Zulily

4.5 Google Play rating

Zulily, featuring “something special every day,” offers app-only deals as well as daily deals that could save you more than 70% or more.

What do they sell exactly?

Browsing the categories on the main website, Zulily features clothing for all ages from a ton of brands, shoes, beauty items, baby products, home goods and even personalized products.

Offering a ton of deals from popular brands such as Michale Kors, Vera Bradley, Levi’s and so many more, consider signing up for the website to at least receive the daily alerts to see if any deals are of interest.

It also doesn’t hurt to download the app if you want to scroll through the new arrivals since the company does offer hundreds of new offerings every day.

Final Thoughts

Whew!

About 5,000 words later, I’m done researching the apps like Wish and what I didn’t realize is that there are a lot of alternatives out there!

Most of these apps that I listed do have amazing reviews, with the exception of a few, but if you’re a fan of Wish, you really can’t go wrong at least downloading the app to see what kind of selection they have.  Usually, right away, you will be able to determine if it’s an app you’re going to want to keep on your phone.

In the end, all of these apps are free to use and the prices will greatly vary, but for the most part, the prices will be much cheaper than that of a local brick and mortar store.
