The Best Chase Credit Card Strategy for 2019 featured by top US travel hacker, Points with Q: image of Singapore Airlines Business ClassImage Credit: Singapore Airlines

In terms of aspirational award flights, Singapore Airlines business class is at or near the top of any list. The airline does a nice job pairing its soft product (customer service, food, amenities) with the hard product (seat). And this is what we award travelers come to expect with Asian carriers. Generally speaking, these carriers are known to offer some of the best airline experiences in the world.

While you’ll need to pony up quite a few Singapore Airlines miles when using its loyalty program, its miles are relatively easy to earn because the airline partners with five transferable point programs. This means you can transfer points from any of these programs directly to Singapore Airlines to book an award flight. With that said, let’s dive into how to snag your next Singapore Airlines business class seat.

  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer: 72,000-99,000 miles
  • Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan: At the time of this writing, “Singapore Airlines has removed access to award travel due to the complexities of enforcing global travel restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic,” per Alaska Airlines.

Flights between the US and Europe run 72,000 miles each way. Award flights to Asia require between 89,000 miles (Hong Kong), 92,000 miles (Tokyo), 95,000 miles (Singapore from the west coast), and 99,000 (Singapore from the east coast).
