EVBN advocacy activities are managed by one of its major consortium partners, the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham).

Since its establishment in 1998, EuroCham has grown to represent more than 850 European businesses, counting among its supporters many of the world’s leading enterprises.

With offices in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, EuroCham’s mission is to represent the business interests of our European members in Vietnam, and to improve the business environment in Vietnam for the benefit of all players.

EuroCham has within it 13 Sector Committees with additional ones forming. Together EuroCham and its Sector Committees maintain a comprehensive advocacy program towards the authorities of Vietnam, supporting and advising the authorities in their reform process. The Sector Committees address both sector specific and cross-sectorial issues with the goal of improving the business environment for EuroCham’s members as well as non-members and European businesses entering the Vietnamese market.

As the lead organization representing European business interests in Vietnam, EuroCham now works in partnership with the Belgium-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (BeluxCham), the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV), the Dutch Business Association Vietnam (DBAV), the German Business Association in Vietnam (GBA), the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (ICham), the Hanoi chapter of the Nordic Chamber of Commerce Vietnam (NordCham) and the Spanish Business Group in Vietnam (SBG).

EuroCham is also a member and founder of the EU-ASEAN Business Council representing European business interests in ASEAN and member of the European Business Organisations (EBO) Network, which works to represent the interests of European businesses in more than 30 countries across the globe.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is EVBN’s strategic partner in facilitating its access to the Vietnamese Government from the central level to ministerial and provincial levels. It is also an effective channel for EVBN to get access to other Vietnamese stakeholders including the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Vietnam Business Forum and other sector-based business associations. MOFA and EVBN share, among others, a common mission of bringing local and European businesses together and voicing the concerns of the business community to the Vietnamese Government.

To lay the foundation for the partnership, MOFA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with EVBN and one with EuroCham on 26 October 2016, both are expected to effectively facilitate the activities of EVBN’s Advocacy Component.EVBN Advocacy channels
